Many people who spend a lot of time sitting while at work wish they could take a break and stand up, but keep going with the work. This old fashioned school masters desk does quite well in this situation. There's plenty of space to spread out papers or set up your laptop. The top lifts up to reveal a lot of storage space, and the drawer does the same. And the stretcher makes a handy place to rest your foot!

Just as the design is traditional, so is the construction. Dovetails (handcut) are used for the case sides and drawer. Mortice and tenon joints hold the base parts together for generations to come.
