Low post beds used to be made in great quantities in the 19th and 20th centuries by country craftsmen and small factories. And for good reason, as they are simple, practical, and hold up well.
My version brings out the classic qualities of the design. The posts are substantial, yet with the cannonball top and round tapered foot, they have plenty of interesting shape and flair. The headboard can be made in many different patterns. I can supply a sheet of possibilities on request.
This low post bed works well at any size, be it single (shown here, in cherry), full, queen, or king. It can also be made to accomodate a box spring and mattress, or a platform and mattress. Woods available are cherry and maple (hard or soft). We can discuss all these options when you order.
Prices: $1,900 (single), $2,100 (full), $2,300 (queen), $2,800 (king)
